Dear Parents:

Catholic Schools Week has been a week full of fun and enjoyment for all.  It’s amazing to see all the relationships and friendships growing between students and teachers.  These are the memories that will last a lifetime.  Thank you for all of your support during this week and every week.  Your children are blessed to have you!

Our Intent to Return link is open  on our website at www.stmaryswv.org.   If your child is returning to St. Mary’s next year, please complete this form to simply hold your child’s position at St. Mary’s for next year.  Add any incoming children to this list also. As the weeks progress, our application process will be rolled out to new enrollees.  With the inception of the Hope Scholarship, we are seeing new applications increase and we need a clear picture of our enrollment numbers to ensure we do not over crowd our classrooms.  Again, thank you for choosing us!

Notes of Interest:

Weather Delay/Snow Days:  We follow Harrison County Schools.  In the event of a 3 hour delay, St. Mary’s and Notre Dame operate a Tech/Remote Day.  In the event of a 2 hour delay, Preschool will operate for 1 hour.  Extended Care will be available for Preschool students on Delay Days.

TAPs:   Phase 1 of the Tuition Assistance Program application opens on Feb 1 for all Catholic families and closes on April 30.   Awards will be announced in May.   Phase 11 is now open to Catholics and Non-Catholics and closes on August 31.  This application can be submitted during Phase 1 and will not need to be resubmitted for Phase 2 awards.  See attached information page.

HandS Meeting:  SCHEDULE CHANGE ‼️

The HandS Meeting has been moved to MARCH 1 at 6 PM in the SMS Auditorium. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience.  See you then!

A big thank you to the HandS volunteers that distributed donuts to all of the ND and SMS students on Monday of Catholic Schools Week: Pam Leonard, Carisa Morrison, Heidi Seamon, Krista Arnold and Missy Jordan. What a generous and delicious treat for all!

Shoe Drive Update

Thank you to everyone that accepted the Catholic Schools Week Challenge! As of this morning, we have collected 1,312 pairs of shoes.

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE…with so much generosity and support from the community, we have decided to extend the shoe drive for two more weeks to give everyone a chance to participate! Please take this bonus time to clean out your closets, ask your neighbors and family to do the same, and collect as many shoes as possible to help our school and those less fortunate. We are grateful for your participation and look forward to you continuing to spread the word and recruit additional shoe collections. Have questions or need help with a large pick up? Text Pam Leonard at 740-525-2846.
