Dear St. Mary’s Families:
Welcome to November!
Next week, we have two days off from school. The first is on Tuesday, November 8, and is a Tech Day with student
assignments. The second is Friday, November 11, and is a holiday for Veteran’s Day – no assignments.
We will also be celebrating Vocations Week with special guest speakers such as John Paul Nardelli, Sister Maria,
and Father Chris.
We have added a special event called ‘Bring a Friend to School Day’. Students in grades 3-6 are welcome to bring
someone who is interested in our school for a day long experience on Wednesday, November 9. Forms were sent
home with students.

Notes of Interest:
HOPE Scholarship Recipients: HOPE Scholarship recipient families were sent a survey last week that is
mandatory to complete in order for the family to receive funding. The survey asks a series of questions that is
necessary for HOPE to determine the appropriate funding amount for each family for this year (22-23). The survey
came from The survey must be completed by December 2 nd . If you did not receive this
email, please notify WV HOPE. If you do not complete the survey, you will not receive the funding.
Winter Uniform began on November 1. This means no more tennis shoes (PE Day only) or shorts.
HandS Meeting will be November 9 at 6:00 pm in the school auditorium.

December 3: Clarksburg Winterfest, SMS Choir will be singing at 1:00pm, Courthouse
December 18: Christmas Program, 3:00pm, Immaculate Conception Church
December 19: Pk3 and Pk4 Christmas Parties at 9:30 am
December 20: K-6 Christmas Parties at 1:15 pm
December 21: Lessons and Carols at IC Church at 11:00 am, families invited
