Dear St. Mary’s Families:

Happy Homecoming Week!

We certainly have had a fun filled week here!  I hope you will be able to join the fun and watch the parade this evening and participate in the fun activities at Jackson Square.  The parade begins at 5:30 from our school and ends at Jackson Square with the Amici Band, food trucks, and the crowning of the Homecoming Court at 6:00 pm.

Below is a link for a Parent Survey.  Please complete this survey by next Friday, October 7.  We use this survey extensively to plan programs and set goals for improvement. We thank you in advance for your time!  If your link does not take you to the survey, you may have to copy and paste it to your browser.

Notes of Interest:

Milk with Cold Lunch:  Students are welcome to purchase milk to have with their cold lunch but this milk must be paid for daily at the cost of .40 per carton.  Single milk cannot be billed through the lunch system.  Please send .40 cash daily for extra milk if your child would like school milk with lunch.

Uniform Note:   On Mass days and with Formal Uniforms, students must wear their fleece jackets or matching navy sweaters.

Homeroom Holiday Parties: The form to sign up for parties came home last week.  Please be aware that not everyone will get every party that is desired.   We will make every effort to make sure that everyone gets at least one party in which to participate.  It is imperative that this form comes back to school quickly.  This is a daunting task and we need to be ready for the Halloween Party team to prepare! Also, be aware…in order to be in the building volunteering at a party or any event, you must complete the Safe Environment Process.  This is a three step process that includes a background check, Virtus video on Awareness Training, and the review and acceptance of the Policy Relating to Sexual Abuse of Children. These three actions may be completed all online at www.virtusonline.org.  If you have volunteered in the past, you probably already have a Virtus account.  Please log in and check the status of your account.  All new families will have received directions on how to complete this process.

Book Fair:  The St. Mary’s Home and School (HandS) organization is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair October 11th-13th. Students will have the opportunity to shop each day. The Book Fair will also be open to families on Thursday, October 13th from 3:00pm-6:00pm during the Parent Teacher Conference. Volunteers are needed – please sign up online at https://signup.com/go/znLViLG  or text Pam Leonard at 740.525.2846. All volunteers must have completed the diocesan pre-approval process. Please let our office manager, Mrs. Ashley Vernon, know if you would like to complete the pre-approval process.

Parent – Teacher Conferences:  The Parent – Teacher Conference is Oct 13 from 3:00-6:00pm.   Students will be dismissed at 12:00 on this day.  Please call the school to schedule a conference time with Ms. Ashley.

Halloween:  All students will all be dismissed at 10:40 am to go home for lunch.  They will need to return at 1:00 for the parade, which begins at 1:15.  PK3 and PK4 Parties are in the morning at 9:30.  The PK Parade will be in the parking lot in the back at 10:15 am.   There will not be any extended care for preschool students on Halloween day. The will not be any Keepers on Oct 31 also.

Field Trip:   Students will be traveling to the 4-H Recreation Center in October to participate in the Harrison county Park Boards ‘Outdoor Adventures’ Program.  PK3, PK4, K, 1 and 2 will go on October 21.  The PK3 and PK4 students will return to school at 10:30 am.   Students in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 will go on the trip on October 17.  All students need to bring a packed lunch and drink for the field trip.  We will be riding the ND bus to and from the field trip.  Students need to wear school uniforms and school fleece jackets with tennis shoes.

21-22 Yearbooks:  We have Yearbooks from last year available for sale in the office.  The cost is $15.  You may send cash or check made payable to St. Mary’s in an envelope and we will send a Yearbook home with your child.

COKE Rewards:  St. Mary’s does have a Coke Rewards account.  You may enter the codes from the boxes or tops or send them to school and we will enter the codes.  To Donate:   Enter…MARY, 26301 and select St Marys Central in Clarksburg.
