Ways you can support St. Mary’s Grade School

The most common way of supporting the school is with a gift of cash, securities, real estate, or personal property. The benefits of making an outright gift to St. Mary’s include a tax deduction based upon the current value of the gift and the avoidance of capital gains tax. Outright gifts also have the advantage of being immediately available to the school

Not everyone is able to make the gift they would like at one time. You can make a commitment to spread donations over a period of months, quarters, or years. It is possible to give more generously over a period of time than through a single gift.

Many companies now have employee matching gift programs. Donations to ST.Mary’s will be matched by an employer. Some companies will even donate financially when their employees provide community service hours to the school. Contact the human relations or personnel office at your employer to find out if your gifts can be matched.

Including St. Mary’s in your financial and estate plans can help secure the long term future of the school. Examples of planned gifts are:

  • Bequests, Wills and/or Trusts
  • Life insurance policies
  • Retirement plans.

It is advisable to contact a tax or financial advisor when considering making a planned gift to the school.

St. Mary’s welcomes in-kind donations for required projects. Gifts of services/and or materials are always needed.

We are always looking for willing volunteers for our programs and events.

“HandS” (Home and School Association) is the parent organization for St. Mary’s Grade School.

HandS is a volunteer organization dedicated to community building and enhancement of the social well being of St. Mary’s Catholic Grade School. The organization has been implemented to provide a strong connection, based on collaboration between home and school of St. Mary’s, to benefit the true center of our beings — the children of the school. As our St. Mary’s Grade School statue plaque reads: “I have no hands but yours.”

Everyone is asked to consider a gift to the Notre Dame & St. Mary’s Fund. In order for yearly campaigns to be successful and for financial growth to occur gifts received should reflect a balance between leadership gifts ($1,000+) and broad participation.
