Parent Memo
From Ms. Lorie
St. Mary’s Grade School
Friday, September 8, 2023
Dear St. Mary’s Families:
Parent- Teacher conferences will be held from 3:00-6:00 pm on September 21. You must call the school to schedule an appointment with the teacher that you would like to see. Visits will be scheduled for 10 minute time slots to have room for everyone to attend. If you need more time with the teacher, it is best to make arrangements to meet/talk at a less hectic time.
Notes of Interest:
MAP Testing: The beginning of the year MAP (measure of academic performance) will begin on Tuesday, September 12* Please note the change in this date. Students are tested 3 times a year to determine academic growth and performance. The first test will give us a baseline for your child’s performance.
Office Forms: All forms for school are online now. Please complete these forms using the link sent in an email. We have tried to correct the problems people were experiencing so please attempt to complete this process. Thank you!
PNUT Passes: As a reward, a student may receive a PNUT Pass (Please No Uniform Today). This pass lets the child have a dress down day. Street clothes must follow specific guidelines and still be appropriate wear for kids. Jeans may not have holes or rips. No sleeveless shirts or spaghetti straps. No short shorts. No hats. See Uniform Guidelines. *If your child uses a PNUT Pass in lieu of a uniform, the Pass must be turned in to the office on that day.
September Service Project: During the month of September, St. Mary’s and Notre Dame will be assisting Notre Dame student, Christian Arnold, as he fills 10 barrels for items to send to Zimbabwe. Please see the attached flyer in your School Email for recommended items.
PE / Gym Day: Just a reminder that Gym Day is WEDNESDAY this year. Students may wear the light gray gym shirt only from last year. Look for a new survey coming soon to order new shirts!
HandS Notes:
Big shout out to Pam and Kevin Leonard for organizing and executing the Grandparents Day mass and celebration! Thank you also to volunteers Samantha Scalise Hefner, Whitney Policano, Kayla Gerard, Sarah Blevins Minsker, Beth Gregg and Christina Nielson for helping with this event as well! Finally, thank you to Stephen Pishner who wrote and composed the beautiful song for the grandparents, and Ms. Cecilia Landers for teaching and conducting our students in this performance!
